When we opened Rio de Janeiro's first Bed and Breakfast back in 1999, we chose our location carefully. A large, 4 storey heritage style character home, situated on a historic cobble stoned road dating to the 1830's, in Botafogo neighborhood - just next door to Copacabana. Surrounded by remnants of Atlantic forest and with a cooler mountain like climate. Our 10,000 square foot property (1 hectare) is located midway between Rio's two major tourist attractions - the Sugar Loaf and the Corcovado Train, which will take you up to the Christ the Redeemer Statue in the Tijuca National Park.
Our location offers relatively easy access by metro, bus, taxi or Uber to Copacabana, Ipanema and the beaches, or in the other direction, to Rio's downtown and central business district with its "Centro Histórico" mixed in. Here you will find Rio's oldest churches, the majority of Brazil's most famous museums, the National Library, Opera Hall or "Teatro Municipal" and many art galleries.
Botafogo, our own neighborhood, is now referred to by many as the new "SOHO" of Rio and offers it's own charm with an array of new restaurants, theaters, pubs, night clubs, museums and art galleries plus 2 major shopping centers and a variety of independant shops and cinemas specializing in foreign and "festival style" films.
